On Februray 29, 14 major projects were launched in the New Industrial Area in Hengshui.
The total investment of the projects was 11 billion yuan. Nine of them were industrial, and five were city construction projects.
Hengshui has been receiving industries from Beijing and Tianjin in recent years, and has built up a series of industrial projects and parks. During the 12th Five-Year Plan, 39 major projects were implemented with a total fixed-asset investment of 40.6 billion yuan. The regional GDP, financial revenue, and industrial added value of the New Area stood first in Hengshui.
In 2016, the government will further develop the New Industrial Area. An industry fund of 300 million yuan has been set up for enterprise support.
During the 13th Five-Year Plan, the Hengshui New Industrial Area will focus on project construction and promotion of the coordinated development of Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei. The government will take advantage of the Belt and Road initiative to launch reforms in administrative examination, technological and financial innovation, and enterprise development. It will also further the growth of various industrial parks, including those supporting such industries as food, fashion, medicine, new material, and intelligent devices.
