Hengshui in Hebei province, organized a meeting in Beijing on May 6 to collaborate on training talentandtechnologicalresearch and development with Beijing universitiesto boost industrial transformation and upgrading, and commercialize scientific achievements.
Over 50 experts and representatives of local businesses and Beijing universities, including those from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Peiking University and Tsinghua University, gathered together to discuss methods of deepening business and university cooperation at the meeting.
"Technology leads development and education decides the future", said Wang Jingwu, mayor of Hengshui, expressing that Hengshui will improve cooperation mechanisms and strengthen communications to cultivate strategic emerging industries, industrial transformation and modern agricultural technologies with Beijing's research institutes and universities.
Hengshui will also explore a new system fortalent training and introduction to tackle the current shortage of skilled workers in key sectors.
The Hengshui government signed technical cooperation agreements with the Chinese Academy of Sciences at the meeting, in addition to12 scientific innovation project agreements in the fields of equipment manufacturing, new materials, environment protection and food productionwere.
Plans for avanadium titanium new materials base and a secondary collection of Beijing university laboratories in Hengshui were also officially announcedon May 6.
“Hengshui will see a growth of industry development through the cross-city cooperation,” said Hengshui Mayor Wang.
