Covering an area of 283 square kilometers, it is a wetland ecosystem featuring meadows, shallows and forests. In recent years, Hengshui Lake Nature Reserve has implemented many environmental improvement projects, and has become an important eco-environment zone for the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, as well as a national ecotourism demonstration area.
