A recital contest of classical pieces concluded at Sun Jing School in Hengshui, in North China’s Hebei province, on Oct 15.
The activity, which started on Sept 21, attracted candidates from kindergartens, middle and primary schools. After auditions and two rounds of competition, 30 candidates entered the final.
Located in Lvli ancient town in Hengshui, Sun Jing School focuses on promoting traditional Chinese culture.
Cao Zijun, a 12-year-old student from Shijiazhuang No 44 Middle School, won the competition. He said that it was amazing to wear traditional Han Chinese clothing and recite traditional classical pieces.
During the competition, traditional activities such as dragon and lion dances and Chinese shadow puppetry were also performed to promote traditional Chinese culture.
